Hi, our 14 year daguter has been bullied by a gang of mostly girls. They started off, by giving her dirty looks and spreading roumors about her, which has led to her loosing all of her freinds. we reported it to the school and nothing was done at first, then after sevral more complaints a meeting was arranged for us to see the headmaster and chairman of the school governs.

In this meeting it was said the best way we have found to deal with this, is it is easy for the victim to leave the school and that then ends the problem. When we asked why can't you chalange the bullies,we were met with we can't throw oil on the fire.

So we stuk our grounds and told them that she was not leaving the school. as she is the victim here. So they have now put a teacher on duty, who has basicly became my daguter's body gaurd and follows her. It was then this teacher witnessed the bulling and made a statement, but this has been total ingored.

So we contacted our LEA who have said a member of their team has carried out an ibdepented invasgation and belive the school is doning nothing wrong.
My daguter has now been told by her doctor that she is suffering from depression, which is defntley down to the bulling,as she has not seen him since she was born.

At the end of this term, this gang had met in the middle of the feild shouting slag at her, so we don't know what to do next. We can't move her schools, as members of this gang has freinds in them and has said they will get her there.

We are not looking foward to her next term.

I am so sorry to hear about what your daughter is going through. It is no surprise that you are not looking forward to next term. This bullying sounds horrendous and my heart goes out to your daughter. I would strongly suggest that you get in touch with an organisation called Advisory Centre for Education. It is an independent national advice centre for parents of children in state funded education with particular focus on the legal position/rights of parents and how to take unresolved matters further. Their website has a guide on tackling bullying.

You might want to post this on our Got a Teenager website message board too. We have a section on bullying and perhaps seeing the other posts to see what other parents have done might be helpful.

I hope that this helps.
